First their is the weather. One would think that the dresscode is a short with a T-shirt. Helas, no such luck. A T-shirt is part of the wardrobe but safely tucked away under a sweater so one will not freeze ones nipples off. Offcourse long pants are the best match to this wardrobe choice and good warm socks to make sure that the carriers of our body will not shiver of coldness.

Secondly i decided to grab my hobby by the horns and finally got myself a chess trainer/coach to get me finally across that magic elo-border of 2000 points. Cross your fingers he is not a slavedriver so that i still have time to blog.

Thirdly i am looking forward to my vacation which starts at 31 july. Never had that before. Maybe it's the fact that it's the first year i work fulltime. When working half-time one has plenty of free time. By full time you have to scrape each second of the hours of your free time so that you can do something else then cooking, cleaning, doing the dishes, ... .

Fourthly it's the first time i will be going outside the safe borders of Belgium for a part of my hollidays. Oke, it's only to The Netherlands to play in a chess tournament but planning the trip, how to get there, where to stay, find cheap place to eat, ... is also mighty exciting.

So it is, will be, a weird summer for me, aswell negative as positive.

Our summer started out that way...now it's like living in an oven!

Our summer has been cooler too and I am not complaining! Even now, our days are glorious, but our evenings are cool. A few nights ago I had to get up and grab a t-shirt to sleep in (normally I sleep in my birthday suit) because I was freezing!

Your vacation time sounds exciting! I bet you are really looking forward to it, I would be.

That's a good idea about the chess coach, I hope he's not too much of a slave driver!

Our summer has been cooler than usual as well, although now it has warmed up somewhat and we are able to enjoy some nice sunny days. A trip to the Netherlands sounds exciting to me! Good for you! Half the fun is in the planning - at least for me anyway. I hope your new chess coach is indeed not a slave driver as we still need to read your posts!!!

Wow you sure bundle up for the summer....lol I'm excited for you and your vacation! I love planning trips, even though I don't take many. But it's fun to plan it all out when I do:) Have a blast Logis :D
